On this beautiful fall Sunday, I made my way over to a local coffee shop that I have yet to enjoy. Moka has several locations, but the one I visited was in North Aurora, Illinois. I had a feeling this local coffee shop was going to be a hit. Not only have the reviews online been favorable, but when I arrived there was a crowd.
I drove up there with the dog riding shotgun at around ten in the morning. I had a bit of a late start this morning (hey, its Sunday, day of rest). I had already walked the dog in the cold, made a quick errand stop on my way, and then I was there. I had noticed that there was not only the drive-thru, but a walk up window as well. There were a lot of cars in front of me, but I was committed!
To my pleasure, the line moved at a very good clip. The people working there were efficient and definitely had a system down! The staff was friendly and they even gave my little doggo a treat! I decided to get into the season and order their Almond Milk Maple Miel Latte. I also grabbed an apple cider doughnut for myself and the husband.
That first sip was incredible! I could taste the maple and it made me smile. I don't always like almond milk when it is warm, I sometimes feel as though it doesn't warm up as well as soy or regular milk. I did not have that issue with this latte! It was excellent to the last drop. My only regret is that I should have ordered the large rather than the medium! I can't wait for the next adventure and finding a new local coffee shop!
